Cohen's First Professional Haircut

Poor kid! Cohen did not enjoy his haircut! He screamed at the top of his lungs for pretty much the whole haircut.

Cohen the Daredevil

The new favorite past-time. The hot spots are the little table, the train table, and the play kitchen. No broken bones yet!

Addie's Big Singing Debut

Adelyn's first public performance- her Christmas program for preschool! She actually stayed up on stage and sang all of the songs. She had her head turned looking at the kid behind her for most of the performance but we were thrilled regardless!

The first big snow!

The kids had a blast playing in the snow. Cohen wasn't for sure how to walk in his snow boots and snow pants so he just kind of stood around and giggled. They loved sleding down our backyard which is about the only thing it is good for.

Addie's 4th Birthday Party

Adelyn's 4th Birthday party! The theme was My Little Pony. Addie had a lot of fun and every kid (including the birthday girl) only had one crying spell. The only fights that broke out were between Adelyn and Cohen- imagine that!!

The Diamond Castle Party

Adelyn had a few of her friends over to watch the new Barbie movie. They all "dressed up" for the occasion! The big hit of the night was the fingernail polish and lip gloss everyone got to bring home... and the cupcakes!

Move it, Dig it, Do it

We attended the annual funraiser for the Children's Museum- Move it, Dig it, Do it. Adelyn's favorite part was the horse and carriage ride and of course any animal she could "pet". Cohen had fun watching Addie and all of the other kids. Poor guy spent most of the afternoon observing everyone from the stroller.

First day of school

The first day of school was a success! Adelyn did great and had a lot of fun!

Naobi Zoo

I took Adelyn and Cohen for a day trip to the zoo. We spent the WHOLE day there. I couldn't drag Adelyn away! She feed every animal that she could, rode on the train twice and even rode on the pony! Cohen had fun too!

Chicago

Eric had a meeting in Chicago so the kids and I tagged along. We hit the Children's Museum and of course the American Girl store. This was Adelyn's second trip to the American Girl store so she was an old pro. She knew exactly what she wanted and picked out a ton of things for Santa to bring her. I've created a monster!!!

The fair was a hit with Adelyn! Good luck she is easily impressed!

Last week Adelyn't preschool class went to build-a-bear... what an undertaking! She had a blast but of course we had to come back later to get the bear a fairy dress!:) Cohen has made a lot of progress in the mobility dept. He loves exploring everything and I can't take my eyes off of him for a minute. I have already found lots of interesting objects in his mouth. The kids have enjoyed lots of bike rides this summer now that we have a trailer where they have their own seats. The ride is now more enjoyable for everyone!! We are going to the Johnson county fair tonight, weather pending. Addie is excited to see all of the farm animals.

Cohen is growing like a weed. He has just mastered crawling and is enjoying his new freedom! He just started Kindermusik and seems to be enjoying himself. He smiles and giggles most of the class. He loves being outside either playing on the teeter-totter, in the sandbox or swinging. He also loves to watch Adelyn play. He gets pretty upset when it's time to come inside. He is a good sport thank goodness because he is either getting hauled around to Addie's activites or is stuck running errands with me. I am still waiting for him to sleep through the night... I think it's about time!!!

July '08

I can't believe how fast the summer has gone!! Adelyn started preschool in June and has adjusted fairly well. She has gotten to go on lots of field trips and thinks riding the school bus is pretty cool!! She was is soccer in June which was a hoot. She spent most of the time picking grass and chasing bugs. I was just impressed that she stayed out on the field and participated during warm-up... that's progress for her! She is continuing with Kindermusik classes and still loves them. We are going to try dance and gymnastics this fall... hopefully she's finally ready. She is still adjusting to her little brother and we still have lots of jealousy and attention seeking moments. She can be a charmer at times and Cohen thinks she is the coolest thing... no one can make him laugh like Addie can.
